SANITATION HELPER

JOB DESCRIPTION

A Sanitation Helper will be responsible for ensuring neighborhoods and streets stay clean as they dispose of residential trash in a safe, efficient, and environmentally conscious way while making great customer service a top priority.

Responsibilities

• Riding on the garbage or recycling truck and collecting solid waste on a designated route, utilizing the utmost safety precautions

• Assisting driver when pulling in/out of traffic as well as backing up, to ensure safety standards are met

• Be knowledgeable of routine work procedures used for manual tasks and operation of waste collection equipment

• Make sound decisions regarding route maintenance and customer service

• Complete route assignments timely and efficiently

 Requirements

• Must be able to pass a drug screen

• Must have a good work history

• Must physically be able to lift, carry, push, and pull at least 50 lbs

• Must have the physical ability to climb in/out and on/off of the truck repeatedly

• Must have scheduling flexibility to work early mornings, late evenings, and Saturdays as the business deems necessary

• Must have the adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations such as weather, traffic, equipment malfunctions, etc

• Must be able to work in various weather elements

• Must have a team player mentality and be willing to help when and where needed

• Must have good communication skills
